WATCH: Pedring Lopez's supernatural horror 'Binhi' releases official trailerThe official trailer for Pedring Lopez‘s upcoming horror film Binhi (English title: The Seed) is now online. Lopez, who wrote and directed the film, is the attached director for the SAF film starring Jeorge E.R. Estregan that naturally caused a stir among pundits on social media.

The setup is innocuously simple: an expecting young family moves into a large home and there they encounter the supernatural.

Here is the official synopsis, per the film’s official Facebook page:

Daniel and Cynthia, a young couple with a child on the way, experience some hard times in Manila. They head back to Baguio, where Daniel is originally from, to start over again. Through the kindness of Alex, Daniel’s well-to-do childhood friend, they get to stay in a large house, rent-free; and he gets a job offer as well.

Everything seems to be falling into place for them–or so they think–until strange things start to happen in their house.

Joem Bascon and Mercedes Cabral portray, respectively, the roles of Daniel and Cynthia. For the uninitiated, Bascon played the drifter in Milo Sogueco‘s Sanglaan and Cabral played wife to Coco Martin‘s tortured everyman in Brillante Ma Mendoza‘s Kinatay.

Binhi opens in theaters nationwide May 20. Check out the trailer below:
