Taylor Swift made the announcement in one of her “Eras Tour” concerts in her hometown of Nashville.
As a recovering Swiftie, the last album of hers I fully listened to was “Speak Now”. As Tay-tay was 21 in 2010, I was 20. I didn’t really have the similar romantic explorations she had then but most of the songs on this album struck so much of a chord to me than the country music musings in Taylor Swift (2006). I mean, sure, my teenage dorky dreamy romantic persona heavily relied on Fearless (2008) albeit secretly as I was more into jazz hits then, but there was something about Speak Now that gave her my utmost respect.
And mind you, those nuggets of songs she wrote about her exes are just the tip of the iceberg. What probably drew her millions of fans to this album was that it was a relative time in our lives when we were flailing, growing up, telling our crushes that they’re *enchanted*, and jumping in headfirst into the great unknown of our twenties.
And so, here’s me re-listening the album before it hits the shelves (and Spotify) on July 7th. You can also pre-order physical and digital copies here.
Over the years, Taylor was a master of giving us fans easter eggs on her albums or on which of her next releases would be. There’s a ton of them in the internet, but here’s a favorite of mine from L’Officiel.

Hardcore Swifties for sure have mentioned these on Tiktok, but here are some hints from 6 months ago through the music video for Bejeweled that the next album to be re-recorded plus some songs from The Vault will be Speak Now:
