Given the weighty reception for both Godzilla and Guillermo del Toro’s self-indulgent Pacific Rim, it is looking that the return of The Monster Film is all but official; and considering these two films, both under the umbrella of Legendary, it’s safe to assume that this ‘Kong remake will be given the same attention and commitment. Exploring the beast’s origins, phsyically thru his home no less, do note, is a very, very tall order. So until a similar talent is to take ‘Kong under helm, Peter Jackson’s King Kong will remain the most empathetic, if redundant portrait of the tower-sized ape.
Here is the official plot description, per HuffPost:
Previous works have touched on the island, but staying and exploring this mysterious and dangerous place offers Legendary the opportunity to take audiences deeper inside this rich world with a style and scope that parallels other Legendary productions. The film will be released on November 4, 2016.
