Brillante Mendoza tells story of Max’s employee in romantic short film ‘Kasal’

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, director Brillante Mendoza—in partnership with Max’s Restaurant—releases his romantic short film “Kasal“. Based on the story of a Max’s employee, the film finds a waitress suddenly struck by the bad memory of her ex-fiancee and their called-off engagement. Max’s as it happens in the film hosts a wedding reception—making her situation all the more ironic.

Kasal” is part of Max’s event ‘Si Dante At Si Max’s’, a four-part short film exhibition inspired by true stories of the restaurant’s employees.

The film is the first in a series of four that Max’s and director Brillante Mendoza will release this year and was initially screened during the Si Dante at Si Max’s‘ event.

The four-part short film series is a collaboration between two Filipino icons—Max’s Restaurant and Brillante Mendoza—that celebrates passion/dedication to Filipino talents through films.

The event launched late December at the Max’s Restaurant in Scout Tuazon and later followed by a block screening at the SM Premiere Aura late January. Here are some ‘grams![/column]
