Just in time for Valentine’s Day, director Brillante Mendoza—in partnership with Max’s Restaurant—releases his romantic short film “Kasal“. Based on the story of a Max’s employee, the film finds a waitress suddenly struck by the bad memory of her ex-fiancee and their called-off engagement. Max’s as it happens in the film hosts a wedding reception—making her situation all the more ironic.

“Kasal” is part of Max’s event ‘Si Dante At Si Max’s’, a four-part short film exhibition inspired by true stories of the restaurant’s employees.

The film is the first in a series of four that Max’s and director Brillante Mendoza will release this year and was initially screened during the ‘Si Dante at Si Max’s‘ event.
The four-part short film series is a collaboration between two Filipino icons—Max’s Restaurant and Brillante Mendoza—that celebrates passion/dedication to Filipino talents through films.
The event launched late December at the Max’s Restaurant in Scout Tuazon and later followed by a block screening at the SM Premiere Aura late January. Here are some ‘grams![/column]
