If there’s one trailer you have to see this week, look no further because just unveiled at Comic Con was the new trailer of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
In the latest trailer, we see the aftermath of the “Battle of Metropolis” from the ending of Man of Steel. Unbeknownst to us viewers though was that Bruce Wayne/Batman (Ben Affleck) was actually present as events unfolded. This experience, witnessing the toll all that destruction took on the citizens of city, soon becomes the Caped Crusader’s motivation in taking down Superman.
As the world struggles to cope with the very existence of a god amongst men in the form of Superman, we are given a glimpse of the different players, of varying sides, who’ll be involved in the new movie. We get our first looks at Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), and even Alfred (Jeremy Irons) – all in action.
Some side notes:
- Someone seems to be in possession of General Zod’s body. Is it Lex Luthor? If it is indeed Luthor, does this add credence to the rumors that he’ll be creating the villain, Doomsday, from the Man of Steel villain’s remains?
- Batman broods in front of a Robin suit with the words “The Jokes on you Batman” scrawled on the chest. This is most definitely a reference to the Joker-murdered second Robin, Jason Todd.
- The trailer pretty much confirms Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Thomas Wayne, eh?
- It looks like Batman will have other suits aside from his normal costume and his mech-suit. At 2:41, we see him in garb resembling Soviet Batman’s uniform from Mark Millar’s Superman: Red Son as he faces soldiers sporting Superman’s “S” symbol.
