Cinephiles are spent in December. I know. I wish it’s from Black Friday sales, too!
December means: Oscar predictions, and by extension Twitter wars; year-ender “best of” lists, and by extension comment wars; and MMFF, which inflicts you this internal war of whether to love or hate it. Needless to say, the four decades-old festival now plays a major part in Filipino moviegoing traditions. Admit it or don’t, you’re catching some of the films in it.
This year the lineup is comprised of eight feature-length films for the main competition, five under the New Wave category, and five each for both the live-action and animation short film category.
