Edgar Wright Goes Musical-Heist in First “Baby Driver” Trailer

In an alternate universe, Edgar Wright would have directed Marvel’s Ant-Man and we would have written about his new film Baby Driver referring to it as his follow-up. In that alternate universe, we would have made comparisons on the heist thrills both films exude, possibly even asking ourselves if a new “trilogy” of capers/heists with his distinct kinetic style is in the works. It’s quite a thing to imagine. Though Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man would always be one of our biggest what-ifs in recent memory, at least with Baby Driver we get to see how the fan-favorite director would have handled such a genre.

Synopsis:

In the film, a talented, young getaway driver (Ansel Elgort) relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game. When he meets the girl of his dreams (Lily James), Baby sees a chance to ditch his criminal life and make a clean getaway. But after being coerced into working for a crime boss (Kevin Spacey), he must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom.
