From more than a hundred entries, the Cinemalaya Foundation selects ten promising entries for the Short Film category of the 2015 Cinemalaya Independent Film Competition.

These ten features will be screened during the 2015 Cinemalaya Festival from August 7-14, 2015 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines and other venues. Last year’s festival, dubbed Cinemalaya X, was simultaneously screened at various Ayala Malls cinemas around Metro Manila.

The best short feature will receive a prize of P150,000.00 and the finely sculpted Balanghai trophy during the Cinemalaya Awards Night on August 14, 2015 at the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo of the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

As an all-digital film competition, Cinemalaya aims to discover, encourage, and support the cinematic works of Filipino filmmakers that boldly articulate and freely interpret the Filipino experience with fresh insight and artistic integrity.  Aside from film exhibitions and premieres, the Festival also features documentaries, seminars, the Cinemalaya Film Forum Series, and other film-related events. Cinemalaya is a project of the Cinemalaya Foundation, Inc., in partnership with the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).
