Primed to surmount the international stage of filmmaking,[inlinetweet prefix=”@FilmPoliceRevs: ” tweeter=”null” suffix=”null”]Western Visayas’ CineKasimanwa Tr3s gathers the largest number of short films for a local festival[/inlinetweet]. Slated from December 8 to 13, the festival will screen almost 100 short films made by the filmmakers in the region.
Celebrating its third year, CineKasimanwa lives to its theme ‘Lokal is International,’ as festival director Elvert dela Cruz Bañares invites both locally and internationally celebrated film figures.
CineKasimanwa Tr3s showcases four films that received P100,000 subsidy under the Western Visayas Film Grants Program, Department of Tourism and CineKasimanwa. The chosen films are: Katapusan nga Handum (by Aimee Apostol–Escasa of Iloilo); Sa Pagtunod It Adlaw (by Romart Martesano of Aklan); Ang Panglakaton (by Mia Reyes of Antique); and Sa Dapa-Dapa sang Balaan Bukid (by Noel de Leon of Guimaras). The festival aims to highlight noticeable tourist destinations, culture and distinctiveness through cinema.
SM Cinema 1 at SM City Iloilo (Cinematheque Iloilo on B&C Square, Solis corner Iznart streets, Iloilo City), and UPV Cinematheque at the University of the Philippines Visayas Iloilo campus are the screening venues for CineKasimanwa Tr3s.

CineKasimanwa Tr3s will also screen Derick Cabrido’s Children Show, Jerrold Tarog’s Heneral Luna, and Michael Tuviera‘s The Janitor. The Piolo Pascual-starring thriller Silong, directed by Jeffrey Hidalgo and Roy Sevilla-Ho will close the fest.
Ticket prices range from P50 to P120 for adults and from P40 to P100 for students.
