It looks like ‘Gambit’ won’t be Channing all over your Tatum

It looks like ‘Gambit’ won’t be Channing all over your Tatum

A lot of passion projects have been starting to take flight these recent years in Hollywood. From the Deadpool movie finally getting a green light after some “leaked” footage, to Neil Blomkamp’s Alien 5 reboot/sequel, even Marvel’s recent blockbuster, Ant-man, was once a passion project of Edgar Wright (you know, before he dropped out and all). It looks like someone’s following in Edgar Wright’s footsteps though in abandoning his passion project midway production and it’s no other than everyone’s favorite fratboy, Channing Tatum.

The Wrap reports, though it isn’t official yet, that it looks like Channing Tatum is in the process of walking away from GambitThis comes quite as a shocker since it was Tatum’s passion and involvement in the first place that encouraged Fox to ramp-up production. In fact, the studio has already been testing up-and-coming actresses, like Lea Seydoux (Spectre), to star alongside Tatum.

Insiders claim though that studio’s working hard on things to keep Tatum. Negotations are still being made and it is still not clear whether director Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) would soon have to find a new leading man to step into the shoes of the Rajin’ Cajun.
