Last year we’ve seen Hugh Grant and Nicole Kidman bat it out in The Undoing, now we’re here to see this stellar performance from another A-lister, Kate Winslet as she stars in this quiet drama about a small-town murder and an investigator who’s battling her own demons while she’s at it.

The seven-episode limited series is created by Brad Ingelsby, the same guy who wrote The Way Back, another film that debuted in HBO this year starring Ben Affleck. Mare of Easttown seems to share the same elements as The Way Back as Kate Winslet also plays a former basketball superstar who also tries to keep her life intact.

Although an early review from Vulture is already available, the show is set to premiere in HBO, HBO Max, and HBO Go on April 19, same time as the US at 10AM (MNL time) exclusively.

Mare Sheehan (Winslet) is a former basketball superstar who returns to this quiet, sleepy town in Pennsylvania to investigate a small-town murder. Things aren’t what they appear to be and yet she holds on to keep her life intact. Mare of Easttown also stars Julianne Nicholson, Jean Smart, Angourie RIce, Evan Peters, Guy Pierce, Joe Tippett, John Douglas Thompson, Cailey Speeny, James McArdle, and more.
