FATE: The Winx Saga is the live action we never knew we wanted! Check out who plays Bloom, Stella, Musa, Aisha, and who’s Beatrix? Read on:
FATE: THE WINX SAGA is Netflix’s modern take on the 2004 Italian-American animated series co-produced by Rainbow SpA and Nickelodeon. This six-part series follows the coming-of-age journey of five fairies attending Alfea, a magical boarding school in the Otherworld where they must learn to master their powers while navigating love, rivalries, and the monsters that threaten their very existence.
It is now officially available on Netflix worldwide. Check out the trailer here:
From creator Brian Young, the trailer shows it in the same manner that Netflix reimagines childhood classic cartoons like Sabrina: The Teenage Witch and the Archie-comics spun series Riverdale, FATE:THE WINX SAGA immediately sends out that dark, twisted vibe that youngsters with magic living amongst fairies in the 21st century might’ve conveyed? We’re not sure but we’re just as excited to see it tonight.
Check out the cast (and how the characters looked like in the animation) and where you might’ve seen them before watching the series now premiering on Netflix!
Abigail Cowen as Bloom
As the famous red-headed heroine Bloom, Abigail Cowen has definitely prepared for the role of magic and the supernatural as she also stars in another live-action Netflix original, Sabrina The Teenage Witch as that witch with the brutal ending (oops!), Dorcas Night.
Hannah van der Westhuysen as Stella
Her film credits include the independent thriller The Bay of Silence (2020), this Australian-English actress plays Stella, whose powers include photokinesis (the ability to generate and manipulate light) invisibility, and eye-color shifting.
Precious Mustapha as Aisha
Eliot Salt as Terra
Fans of Normal People might want to glue in to this latest Netflix series as one of the cast just joined as the earth fairy Terra. Eliot Salt so far has a few works on her IMDB page but one that stood out is possibly her role in Normal People as Joanna, and that other series with David Schwimmer in it called Intelligence. As Terra, she posseses the power of Chlorokinesis, which means she can make a bad guy grow vines into their bodies. It is both a nightmare and a dream to any plantito/plantita indeed.
Elisha Applebaum as Musa
This might be Elisha Applebaum’s biggest break as she is still early on her career. The English actress plays Musa, a mind fairy who utilizes headphones to distract herself from other people’s thoughts. Her main power is the Empathic Perception as she is able to interpret people’s (and other element’s) emotions.
Sadie Soverall as Beatrix
Sadie Soverall is the only newcomer in the bunch, and true enough her character is also the only one that did not come from the original cartoon series. Beatrix anyway is an air fairy and she possesses the power of Atmokinesis, which is mainly the ability to change the weather. Yup, the weather. She also has the ability to generate and manipulate air (Aerokinesis) and to manipulate an electric charge (Elektrokinesis).
