Watch as ‘dizi’ takes over Pinoy TV with ‘Everywhere I Go’

ETC launches its new prime-time block ‘ETCerye’ featuring ‘Everywhere I Go’, weeknights at 8 pm.

It’s not a secret that we Filipinos love teleseryes. From our own local dramas, to Mexican telenovelas and quite recently a second (or third) wave of Hallyu, it doesn’t come as a surprise to find out that we’re in a thrill for tales that take us out of our comfort zones, mixed with a flair of romance and drama. But have you ever heard of the term dizi?

Since the early 2000s, dizi or literally ‘genres in progress’ as they are so loosely translated have been taking up much of the airtime from the US, Bulkan countries, the Middle East, China, Korea and Latin America. It’s a formulaic trait that changes overtime, takes place in whichever form that suits the viewer, and so get ready to experience these sweeping epics take up your late night viewing pleasure as ETC launches its new primetime block called ETCerye: the channel’s first foray into Tagalized foreign dramas. Showcasing the first Turkish Tagalized drama in the country is ‘Her Yerde Sen’ or Everywhere I Go, starring Aybüke Pusat and Furkan Andıç. A special 3-episode premiere aired yesterday and will air once again tomorrow, Mondays to Fridays at 8 pm.

Furkan Andıç and Aybüke Pusat star in a conflicted household ownership in Everywhere I Go

From Turkey with Love in this dizi called ‘Her Yerde Sen’

Everywhere I Go is a story about a serious businessman named Demir (Andıç) and an ambitious free-spirited female architect, Selin (Pusat). We find out at the start of the show that they might be owning the other halves of a property, albeit accidentally under some circumstances that involve three warring sisters. To make the situation worse, not only must they put up with each other at home, they also need to get along at the office as Demir turns out to be the new boss at the firm where Selin is employed.

More commonly known by its Turkish title, Her Yerde Sen, Everywhere I Go seems like an epic of small proportions, especially since each episode normally goes by a two-hour flow. So far it has easily adjusted on our normal airtime of an hour each (with sponsors and commercials in between) every weeknight at 8 pm.

It won the Golden Lens Award’s Romantic TV Comedy

‘Everywhere I Go’ is in fact both a smash hit and an award-winning program in Turkey. It was chosen as the Golden Lens Awards’ Best Romantic TV Comedy, along with Aybüke Pusat and Furkan Andıç whom were named as Golden Butterfly’s Best TV Couple.
