Inspired by Prime Cruz and Jen Chuaunsu’s latest film, Isa Pa With Feelings, we wanted to share this episode to other non-hearing listeners and readers out there. IPWF is a film starring the ever-expressive Maine Mendoza and Carlo Aquino as Mara and Gail. It’s a typical mainstream romantic story where girl and boy meets, but the boy is deaf and the girl is not. We then find the two starting off as friends and somehow relating to each other’s loneliness. The film tackles the importance of communication, and the trivialities of loneliness and empathy. As well as an intro to a world completely unknown to us, us being the ones that can hear.
